Lets Race And See What Happens!

Did you ever think about how with everything we do there are consequences whether good or bad? We all know that there are consequences for our actions. Sometimes we might not think of these consequences before we are about to do something that is potentially dangerous or something that we may regret. Take something like street racing. Its very dangerous and when someone pulls up next to us at a light and we say to ourselves should we race or not. Most of the time we might say "why not? i can stop if i dont feel like racing anymore." But at the time we are racing a kid could run out into the street, a pot hole in the road might send the car off track into a house, what happens if we go to fast and cant stop in time? There are so many possibilities that might not happen but could happen. About a year ago my parents had taken me to pick out my first car. We couldnt really find anything but they saw how i liked to look at the mustangs. they said i wasnt allowed to get one because they are too fast and are very dangerous. On my seventeeth birthday they surprised me with a nice red mustang. They said that i should be smart enough to know not to race, and gave me many speaches on the dangers of racing, and how many of there friends got into horrible accidents. I didnt think things like that could happen to me. i kind of saw my self as invincible. I floored th peddle at a stop sign and went into a tail spin just to fool around where there were no cars or anything but there was a pole. I spun out of control and almost hit the pole. i stoped about five feet from it. i was so scared i couldnt even drive anymore i had to sit at the curb for a little while, until i felt i could drive again. I went ome and went into my room. I didnt try anything like that eveer again. i endup selling the car because it was so dangerous and didnt find it comfortable to drive. It was an over all scary thought of crashing the car. Many things could be fun at times and "cool" to some people, but wen it comes to our safety, we should think about the consequences more!

Exploring New Things

Have you ever been to a Yankee or a Met game? Have you ever been on a subway alone before with your friends with no adults! Its a totaly new experience when we grow up because we might have not have been able to do these things when we were younger. Noticing how as i grow things are becoming more and more different, i can see that the world is huge and i haven't even seen a tenth of it. The world is so big and i want to explore more of it. Believe it or not yesturday was the first day i went to a New York Met game with one of my friends. We drove to his uncles house and then from there we took the trains! I haven't really taken the trains in my life, maybe around five or six times in fact! I was always driven to places and never got to do many things like this, but i can tell its just a part of growing up and learning new things. Well, we started walking to the train, picked up a metro card, got on the train and were on our way. We had to take two trains, we started off on the F train near Prospect park and had to go about 15 stops to catch the 7 train near 42St. and Grand Central. It was so confusing because we really didn't know were we were going. We had to take the 7 train nineteen stops to Shea Stadium and then we were there it was such a long and pretty fun ride. we got to the gates and had an extra four tickets and were trying to sell them but couldn't find anyone interested, but it was okay we got the tickets for free anyway. We stayed at the game until the seventh inning and during the whole game we kept changing our seats going lower and lower. We sat right behind home plate on the second level, we were so close. after, we left and on the way back to the train and took it home. It was a great experience and would like to do it more and more so i can learn more new things, maybe even go to the New York City and do somethings there.

From Younger to Older

Have you ever realized as we grow up how things change? How more reponsiblities fall on you and how opportunity cost increase? How we are more capable of becoming distracted with things that are more important then others? well as i am growing up i can see many examples of each of these three questions. As the years go on, i see many different things happening, changing, and many things that my parents used to tell me that i never saw possible. As i started driving around a year ago, one can tell that responsibilities increase drastically! One day driving to school, i was running a little late, and on the highway i was driving at about seventy miles per hour. Now the opportunity cost in that could be recieving the ticket and possibly getting my license suspended wit points added on, also an increase to insurance, and also increased danger to me and people around me. On the other side, if i didn't speed, i would get to school a little late and deal with the teacher and explain why i was late. The opportunity cost is drastically different from when i was smaller because i didnt have to worry about tickets, increased danger hazards, and all the different possible things that can happen as a driver of a car. We had bicycles and skateboards when we younger, and the opportunity cost then was wearing a helmet and bieng safe, or not wearing the helmet and possibly getting hurt. Also Becoming distracted is much more easier as a driver, and a simple example of this is how we think how we have a car and can go anywhere, anytime, and possibly not keep track of time. The peer pressure on doing things when driving is amazingly higher, just because we might wana act "cool," but when we were younger we had our parents take us places, and didnt have to worry about the peer pressure of just getting up and going somewhere. One way that i saw this was when i was with my friends and they wanted to goto the movies, but i had a paper do in school the next day. Instead we went to the movies i didnt have enough time to do my paper to my full potiential, instead i rushed it. If i was still younger i wouldn't have to worry about this because the peer pressure would not be as great to just get up n go. Instead i would have to go ask someone to drive us there. All in all as we grow up we see how the things our parents used to warn us about, how we never thought they could happen back then. Now we can see how easy they can happen and how we are left with many more choices and decisions we have to make as we grow up.
