Halloween Eve!

Todays halloween eve! The day before holloween when all the little misfits are suppose to come out and destroy things. Is also called "Misfits Night." Last year we had a little problem where kids had egged my friend house and we haad to call the cops and clean everything up. This year we have all cameras and stuff just incase of another incident. Well today i got up and got ready to goto school and even got my work done for fridays classes. i have al most nothing to do for this weekend except a research paper that i am almost done with. I went to school and met up with a couple of friends that i used to hangout a long time ago. We talked and talk about how things were and even what were gana be for holloween. Im still unsure of what im going to be but i cant wait untill holloween comes. I then met up with my friend billy and went to class and handed in our english papers then the proffessor let us go early. After that we had about a half hour so me n billy went to our cars and dropped our books off. Billy had a big ball in his car so we decided to play wit it on the great lawn with our friends. We felt like we were little kids but tere was nobody around to make fun of us! We kicked and punched the ball and even bounced it on the concrete and he was afraid that it was goin to pop. But once the big ball go into billys trunk e hitit and forgot he had his key in his hand and POP! He poped a hole right in the side of it. Now im in history class and its as boring as could be because the teacher just rambles on about how the author of books that we are reading thinks about history. Pretty boring class but got get it done!

A Walk to the City

About a week ago i was getting ready to visit the city. I was going out with my girlfriend to a resturaunt and to walk around and just enjoy the times. We first drove to the S.I. ferry so we didnt have to take another hour on the staten island railroad. We drove to the ferry and when we got there found it confusing on where to park. We park and paid at a municipal meter but when we were walking to the ferry we saw signs that it was private parking only and were afraid that i was going to get a ticket. We went and asked a guy that wasnt very helpful. He said he didnt know, but he said that there was another parking lot near the entrance to the ferry and he was sure that we could park there. So we went back to my car and on the way saw a family looking for a spot and sold them our ticket. Then went around and parked the car and ran to the ferry. We grabbed a metro card and some snacks and were ready to go. Once we got on the ferry we went to the top deck and went on the outside. We took some pics even though she didnt want to that much because she thinks she looked funny, but she didnt and didnt want to believe me. After that event we arrived at the city and took the train to Christopher st. When we got the the restauraunt was right there! We went to "Jeckal and Hyde" for dinner where they had many funny characters and even things on the walls that put on shows for you while you eat. It was really cool and pretty fun! Then after dinner we went to a museum that had some weird things. There was things like hot dogs and fish sticks that that moved like they were real. The fish sticks were in a tank and were swimming around, while the hotdogs were in a container and had the water dispenser which was a mustard bottle. It was really weird but very cool to see. After we walked around the city and then started to head home. We really had a great time and cant wait to go back and do it again!

Analize This!

As apart of my history class we have to read certain books. for each homework assignment we have to analize the hapters we were assigned that night. During the semester, a ertain part of Adam Hochschild's book "King Loepald's ghost", caught my attention and was very informational. They start off the chapter with a map of Africa. we see the map of Africa was cut up like a jigsaw puzzle by Europeans during the last part of the nineteenth century for a variety of reasons. In 1876 the French initiated and attempted to revitalize France expansionist policy of colonization. By creating treaties with the locals they expanded their colony and threatened the plans of the King of Belgium, fearing the expanding role of France, Britain began to recognize old claims that Portugal had on certain colonies and the whole matter concerned the Germans who while not wanting to colonize felt a need to protect their commercial interests. Ultimately this led to the Berlin Conference of 1884 to 1885. The Conference recognized Leopold of Belgium's claim to the Belgian Congo and Zaire, French rights to equatorial Africa and freedom of trade throughout the region which was desired by the Germans. Britain was acknowledged to have claim on the lower Niger, France on the upper Niger. The conference also required a formal method of future European claims to Africa than the methods used by Britain in the past. I find this informative book on history and how nations became allies and how different nations fought to keep there independence played a tremedous role on how the United States became about as well. We are a strong nation and can be considered one of the strongest and yet newest nations.

Different Classes for the Good or The Worse

Through some classes in school there have been many different classes. There are some interesting ones and then there are some boring ones. One class that sometimes can be boring is history. People getup and leave and can be very distracting. Other classes are more fun were the teacher becomes more involved and shows us repeatedly how to do certain things and dont just leave us sitting there wondering about whats gana happen next, or even who might be called on next. i sit in the class and listen to all the things that the teacher has to say and even take good notes. but the teacher doesnt give any test. We have three analytical papers do in this history class, abd everyday we have to read about 60 pages and then write a one page synopsis on the reading. The synopsis is not written on what the reading was about, but what we think the argument the author is trying to put foward adn what we think based apon that. I dont truely understand the full idea of this class and sometimes find myself not lear ning as much i should. I should be furthering my knowledge of history and not trying to see what the author is thinking. The teacher also has wierd ways of grading and i find it truely difficult to find how i am doing in the class. Our grades are based on our participation, the synopsis', and the three analtical papers. Every class we had in those synopsis' and he says that he either gives a check or a minus on the synopsis. He never gives them back so how are we suppose to know how we are doing in the class? I find that the class is quite boring and sometimes hard to follow because the teacher just rambles on about the author and his inputs on history.

Buying cars!

Buying a new car! its such a great feeling that you know that your getting one that nobodys has ever used. You get to pick the model you like, the color, the interior colr, and even the certain uprgrades you want to make to the car. Ofcourse for a price! Some cars maybe more expensive then others, and might even look the same. Lets look at the 2009 Infiniti G35 and the 2009 Mecedes Benz E-class.

The 2009 Infiniti G35

These two cars have alot in common and look similiar. The only difference is the price. The mercedes starts at around 60 thousand dollars where as the Infiniti starts at around 30 thousand dollars. These cars have very similar performance, and interior features such as navigation and leather heated seats. For the value of the Infiiniti and the its performance fearures compare d to its pricte is a great value. The Mecnedes Benz which is a top enad vehicle cost more because of more compguterized features with in the car and foriegn parts that may cost more, also its elegant features and high reputation. The Mecedes does attract more attention because it may cost more but the infiniti is from less attractive.

The Final Debate

A lot of work due for school yesterday stopped me from being able to watch the debate. From the reactions I've heard, it wasn't a must see by any means and did little to impact the race. One good thing about it is that now all the debates are over. Looking back on all three presidential debates and the vice presidential debate, I don't think they moved the race much at all. The most important result was Obama's success in portraying himself as presidential material. He had the most to lose going in. John McCain's did not do so well in her readiness for presidency. McCain's slow and steady collapse in the polls began after that interview. Palin was a risky pick that could have been a great if he had been in greater effect. The debate seemed to be a fight for McCain. it was said that he had been going against all Obama had pledged and at one point in the election McCain stated how if Obama wanted to run against George W. Bush, he should have run four years ago. McCains aggression might of given him the edge of the debate but he needed to fully out preform Obama to make up the point deficit in order to make him the choosen electorate for the white house.

Alcohol For Cars!

Do you notice how the new cars have the stickers on them, and how they say the miles per gallon? Some cars get better miles per gallon then othere for all different reasons. There may be cars that have four cylinder engines and get around 25 miles per gallon. Or the Six cylinder cars gettin around 18 miles per gallon. Then there are the "gas Guzzlers," the eight, ten and twelve cylinder cars. these cars and trucks with the bigger engines are either high performances vehicles or bigger trucks. They get anywhere from ten miles per gallon and lower. They eat up the gas, and use more gas then other cars that are driven. In our economy we are going through some major crisis, one in which is gas. these bigger cars and trucks could be seen as a big waste in some ways. They also have racing cars! These cars used a great amount of gas because most of its just flying out the tail pipe as they zoom by! these cars also could have a special mixture to the gas called nitrous oxide or "NOS." This is like a boost for the car or "Alcoholic treat" for the car. Some people call nitrous oxide an alcohloic treat for the cars because it makes the cars have a great burst of speed and the more it uses can break down the car. Its like alcool and people who abuse it. It can slowly but surely break you down over time. Possibly leading to liver failure. These cars usually are very fast, but also very dangerous because certain parts of the car may break down as they race!

The Changes in a Life Time

Throuh the days of growing up things aree slowly changing whether we can realize it or not. Can you see some of the changes occuring as we grow older? Maybe if we took a look at the price of gas.I remmeber going to the gas station near my old house when i was five years old. back then the price of gas was $1.20 a gallon. Then when i was six we moved to another house and there happen to be a gas station near by and i remember the price when i was six, had gone up to $1.35. As i grew older and older i remember my grandmother always complaining about the gas prices. Yes she is pretty conservative wth her money and rather cheap. When entered intermediate school, gas had went above two dollars a gallon. And in 7th grade was when it was at $2.20. My grandmother was refusing to drive and pick us up from school, but she had to. As i went throught high school, the trajic event of september 11 occured. This drove gas prices through the roof. I remember gas bieng as high as $4.09. Now that i drive it actually affects me. The price of gas and the oil companies selling them are going through great ups and downs with the prices. There are many problems wit the oil companies with them finding more oil. If me and my friends were at school and were fooling around playing some football, and we stepped in a muddy looking puddle. We looked closer at the puddle because it looked kinda thick and black. We found out that it was oil and we told the people in charge of the school what we had found. Maybe the school would open a big oil drill in the middle of the campus and cut aus a piece of what its bieng sold for. Then we all be rich, but ofcourse thats if the school decided to drill in the middle of the campus, which would bring great changes!

The Field of Dreams

Have you ever been to a baseball game before? Maybe you’ve even played on a baseball field. They’re wide open fields with nothing around but grass. Its huge atmosphere is relaxing and you can just feel the excitement that occurs on the field. A man on second base, the batter hits a line drive to the left field wall, runner on second scores, and the batter ends up on third! Baseball fields have grass on the outfield and infield but along the base path is dirt. Its big diamond shape has four little bases, First, second, third, and home, all in which the batters run on to score the next big run. I have played since I was five years old, and as I entered high school it was found that I was a pitcher. I was really good as a pitcher, and also threw the hardest on the team. I’ve played man games at many different places, including some really nice baseball fields. I played at the New York Yankees field at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. It was a championship game for a league outside of my school. This was a major league baseball professional field, and was the nicest field that I’ve ever played on in my life. I also played on other big field like Tropicana field in Florida which is a spring training field for major league teams. And another field I played on was The Richmond County Ballpark at St. George, or better known as The Staten Island Yankee stadium. I don’t have the opportunity to play baseball anymore because shoulder problems were surgery is needed. I haven’t played in about one year now really miss it. Just standing on the field is a great feeling that brings memories and also brings me back to the days of when I used to play and enjoy every single moment of it.
